Hostel / Accommodation Provider Application Form

MAAUN invites eligible hostel and accommodation providers interested in operating private hostels for MAAUN students to carefully review the application requirements before submitting an application.

Important Notice for Applicants

Applicants are advised to carefully read and understand the MAAUN Hostel and Accommodation Policies and the requirements outlined below before submitting an application.

Applicants intending to apply for the operation of a private hostel for MAAUN students should carefully read the Application Guide for Hostels before completing the Application Form.

Eligibility Requirements

Only applications fulfilling the eligibility criteria set out in the MAAUN Hostel and Accommodation Policies will be considered eligible.

Use of the Prescribed Form

All applications must be submitted using the prescribed MAAUN application form. MAAUN reserves the right to refuse to process applications that are not submitted using the prescribed form or that fail to provide mandatory information.

Who May Submit the Application?

Applications should be submitted by the owner of the lot(s) or premises, the operator of the student hostel, or jointly by the owner and operator of the proposed student hostel.

Supporting Documents

Applicants are required to submit the relevant supporting documents together with the completed application form.

Where the operator is not the owner of the premises, written consent from the owner must be provided.
Where the owner submits the application, proof of ownership should be provided.
A copy of the business registration certificate must be submitted.
Body corporate applicants must also submit a Certificate of Incorporation issued by the Companies Registry.

Statutory Declaration

All applications must be submitted with a statutory declaration as prescribed in the application form. The declaration must be duly signed by a related person of the Applicant and received by a lawyer. The signed declaration attached to the application must be the original copy.

A related person may include:

For a body corporate: a director, company secretary, or a person concerned in the management of the body corporate.
For a partnership: a partner, a person concerned in management, or an office holder of the partnership.
For an unincorporated body: a person concerned in management or an office holder of the body.

Accuracy and Consistency of Information

Information provided in the application should be the same as and consistent with information submitted in subsequent development approval applications, including details of the lot(s), premises, parameters and arrangements of the proposed student hostel.

For each building, applications from more than one Applicant will not be considered.

Transfer of Hostel Interests

If an Applicant intends to transfer all its interests in the student hostel, a duly signed statutory declaration by a related person of the owner and/or operator after the transfer must be submitted to MAAUN at least one month before the transfer of operation.

Additional Information

Where necessary, the Applicant may be requested to provide additional information to assist MAAUN in assessing the application.
